SDCC Iron Fist & Legion Trailers

Back to Marvel here, and while Marvel and DC Comics unleashed some 1st looks with Wonder Woman, Justice League, Luke Cage, & the Defenders teaser, the FX Legion trailer also dropped at San Diego Comic Con and we finally got a teaser of Iron Fist.

When Legion was first confirmed, I have to admit that I scratched my head and had zero interest in seeing a dramatized live action series about this character. I know, I'm a big X-Men fan and Chris Claremont fan as well, but the character of Charles David Haller flew well below my fandar.

Despite that fact, I did give the trailer a try to see if it would change my mind and spark some interest in the snobbish comic fandom realm of my mind. Before I get into that and if you haven't seen it yet, take a looksie below.

Okay, while skeptical of the show at first, the trailer did spark some curiosity. It even made me research the character a bit more.

So David Charles Haller is the son of Professor X and Gabrielle Haller, which I knew before already. Gabrielle Haller or Legion's mother first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #161 (1982), three years before her son Charles 1st appeared in New Mutants #25 (1985). David Haller's 1st full appearance is in New Mutants #26, which also first debut's his absorbed psyche of Jamail Karami.

David Haller or Legion is also a powerful telepathic, but the dude is even more powerful than that. Legion, like the name suggests, can actually absorb a person's psyche into his own.

Because of this neat little trick, he has dissociative identity disorder and can also manifest that person's powers, if he or she has any, when that psyche becomes the dominant personality. Not just with actual identities he can absorb from real people, David also makes up his own original identities as well.

With that said, I can see the show actually being quite interesting and crazy. It does not so far seem like any of the other identities from the actual comic are being used by the show such as Jack Wayne, Jamail Karami, and Cyndi.

So, I'll give the pilot a try at least. Trailer did it's job and I'm a bit more interested than zero.

As for the Iron Fist teaser, didn't really expect it to reveal much. It's just a teaser to try to get a little bit more excitement revved up for the upcoming show.

It's hard to say whether a teaser gives me more confidence in a show or not. Out of all the Netflix shows, this one had to have the most concerns. After all, there were rumors that Netflix and Marvel Television were going to drop Iron Fist last year.

So, dunno. It was cool seeing something about the Iron Fist show. Can't wait for some trailers, but I think that may be later in the year.

got an investor tip up my sleeve: Logan's run 6 - first Thanos solo story. Might bring double digits before the movie appearance - if you can still find it for 20 bucks...
