It should be noted that there are Archie 35 cent Canadian Editions from the Silver Age of comics, but the few are considered by large as Canadian Editions and not actually 35 cent variants that were used for test marketing. CGC also notes them as Canadian Editions and they are pretty rare as well.

However, whether they were used for test marketing in Canada isn't really confirmed. Some have three covers with different prices - 35 cents, 39 cents, and 49 cents during the Bronze Age, so an argument can be made about those. But it's unclear which is the actual regular priced cover and which are the variant prices...at least for now.

I'm not entirely sure, so I neglected to include them, but if you're a fan of Archie comics, the two I know about are Archie's Love Scene and Archie's One Way. Not sure how rare or common they are, but a few can be found on eBay.

As for the actual 35 variant comics that are well documented, the holy grail is the Star Wars #1 35 cent comic. A word of warning concerning the 35 cent Star Wars #1 variant.

There are two covers with the 35 cent price on them. The ones with the Diamond around the price and a blank UPC box are reprints. They are not rare like the Newsstand 1st print 35 cent variant prices that has a barcode and a square shaped price box. The example pic to the left is the reprint 35 cent cover for Star Wars #1.

This is the same for Star Wars #2 as well. Don't get duped and think you're getting a 1st print 35 cent variant concerning these comics.

Anyways, the first printing 35 cent price variant tests for Star Wars #1 seems to be the most valuable and sought out for the longest time. High grade copies go for some mulah for sure.

Even the Star Wars #2 1st print 35 cent variants that holds the first appearance of Han Solo and Chewbacca in comics have seen an increase in demand and value. Not really surprising concerning that. I mean, we are talking about Han and Chewie here.

All in all, as I've repeated throughout this series, these 35 cent variants aren't easy finds. If you happened to get lucky and find any of these in your collection, a big congrats.

If you're on the hunt for them, I wish you the best of luck in a possible cheap snag. However, remember that rarity isn't everything. There must be demand backing it up.

Alrighty, that concludes this 35 Cent Variant Comics series. I busted my ass on this one and even made a downloadable PDF to further help you out. Just shoot me an email, and I'll send it to ya via email.

Enjoy and thanks for reading. If you missed Part 4, that PREVIOUS link below will send you there. Until next time.
