First Fantastic Four Trailer Released!

Whether you've been skeptical about the new Fantastic Four reboot or excited about the upcoming movie, we just recently been given our first trailer for this film that has garnered an onslaught of pretty negative press since it's casting of Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm. You can check out the official trailer below if you've yet to see it.

Finally, we get to see something about this film. Rumors have run rampant about this Fantastic Four reboot, and FOX was generally quiet about this movie. I've never seen a flick take such a bashing and it's a fact that this movie has undergone a lot of negative rumblings before even a photo or anything was released by the studio.

I'm sure as this trailer circulates the webosphere, it's gonna continue to take a bashing as well. To be honest, though, it doesn't look half bad. The trailer definitely caught my interest.

Now, I'm not sure whether it caught my interest because of the all the negative rumblings about it and I was expecting something completely horrible or if it is just a good trailer. I think it's both. Gotta admit, I felt a tinge of excitement during the scene when Ben Grimm gets his Thing on! C'mon that was cool! It was even cool to see Johnny Storm Flame On as well.

This is a re-imagining, but unlike certain reports, the trailer does not make the Fantastic Four look like Chronicle 2. It looks like it will actually be a cosmic/science fiction adventure and may depart from the typical superhero movie aspect we're used to.

At least that's the feeling this trailer gave me, and it just may be something fresh and exciting concerning so-called comic book movies. Just like Guardians of the Galaxy which definitely had more of the feel of a Sci-Fi flick than an all-out comic book movie.

This trailer definitely peaked my interest, and I even think it might be worth watching. Sure, I admit that I wasn't all that happy with the casting at first. None of the actors reminded me of any of the comic characters of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm or Johnny Storm.

However, after seeing just how much bad heat this movie had been taking for quite a while, I felt no desire to continue riding that bandwagon of pummeling every bit of news or rumor that surrounded it. Gets old and takes too much energy. Thought I'd just shut my mouth and wait for the trailer to come out.

If this sucker is in IMAX 3-D, I just may lay some dollars down to watch it. Fantastic Four stars Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Jamie Bell, and Tobey Kebell. Fantastic Four hits theaters August, 7, 2015.

What do you guys think of this first look at the Fantastic Four reboot by Josh Trank?

  1. I have to admit I was skeptical about this film and still am as a HUGE FF fan, but it was a nice looking trailer.

FF has such a rich history and I'm not especially happy they are going with the Ultimates approach. To me it just looks like a great Scifi film not really a FF film. You can pause the Age of Aultron trailer on any scene and you know it's an Avengers film. With this it looks like a Scifi film. For comic book movies I prefer the Avengers approach...I want to know its a comic film.

It has very cool visuals, I'm sure it will be entertaining. The question is...will it be a great FF film? Because that's what ai really want.

    1. Heya J_Kandefer, I'm still skeptical as well, but the trailer does make me want to see this movie a lot more than I did before. That's for sure. I don't think it will be as terrible as reports have been saying it's going to be, but I still don't think it will be the definitive Fantastic Four movie.

If you're going to take this movie as a comic book movie, I think you might be disappointed for sure.
