2nd Appearance Comics To Invest In Part 9

Thought I'd get this one out of the way as soon as possible. There's a few posts about a very important and different subject I think really needs to be addressed, but until then, this is Part 9 to this 2nd appearance comics to invest in.

I should've just called it 2nd Appearance key issues. We got some good ones and some pretty over-looked ones in this part. So let's go to it. If you missed Part 8, just click that link. If you're good to go, enjoy Part 9.

SUPERMAN THE MAN OF STEEL #19
2nd full appearance of Doomsday

For those who still like cheap buys or Modern Age comics, Man of Steel #19 is the 2nd full appearance of Doomsday, and the character has become a popular one. A lot of speculation is going around that Doomsday will make an appearance in Superman v Batman Dawn of Justice.

No confirmation yet, but this 2nd appearance is being over-looked currently. Man of Steel #19 was published January, 1993.

eBay - No problem finding this one on the mighty eBay and just as expected. Plenty of raw copies and it will be easier to find high grade unslabbers for this one here. Quite a few CGC 9.8s and 9.6s at the time of this writing and most are pretty cheap too.

mycomicshop - Three CGC 9.8 copies with two of them at $49.95 not including the buyer's premium charge. One VF raw copy in stock with no buyer's premium.

SUPERMAN'S GIRLFRIEND LOIS LANE #71
2nd Silver Age appearance of Catwoman

1st Silver Age appearances for a lot of major characters are friggin' hot in the market, especially for DC characters and there are a lot of them. 2nd Silver Age appearances of these characters are going to catch heat too.

Right now, the 2nd Silver Age appearance of Catwoman in Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane #71 is quite under the radar or not being looked at on a huge scale. January, 1967 was when this comic was published.

eBay - Few copies here at the moment. Looks like there's some mid-grades and plenty of raw low grades. Only one CGC 9.2 low NM here for now.

mycomicshop - One CGC 9.2 low NM copy here on consignment. Also three raw copies that are all pretty low grade. Two of the raw copies are in actual stock.

ComicConnect - Only one copy here and it's a raw 9.0 VF/NM.

ComicLink - One CGC 9.0 VF/NM copy is the only one here at the moment.

BATMAN #169
2nd Silver Age appearance of Penguin

The TV show Gotham has the Penguin as a main supporting character, and the 2nd Silver Age appearance of the Penguin is still a decent buy. Not exactly cheap, but not exactly ridiculously expensive either for most grades under 9.2. One 9.0 dropped in November for only $203.55.

Just another 2nd Silver Age appearance of a popular Batman villain now on your radar. Batman #169 was published February, 1965.

eBay - Raw copies available, but doesn't look like there's many. Some are advertised as 8.0s and 8.5 VF+. One CGC 9.0 VF/NM and the only slabbed copy so far.

ComicConnect - Only three raw copies here at the moment. Highest is a 7.5 VF minus. The other two copies are a VG/FN and GD/VG.

STRANGE ADVENTURES #191
2nd appearance of Enchantress

More Suicide Squad love here, and it's been confirmed that the Enchantress will debut on the big screen. Not sure if the first appearance of the character is gaining heat in the market, but this one hasn't gathered that much heat for it yet.

In fact, it's not an easy find on eBay at the moment, especially for CGCs. Not that their rare or anything, just no one deemed this comic worthy to grade before the movie hype. Strange Adventures #191 holds the 2nd appearance of Enchantress and was published August, 1966. Gotta love Silver Age key issues.

eBay - Limited selection for this one. A little more than a handful of raw copies and they mostly look like they're in the low grade. No CGC yet but not too surprising.

BATMAN #489
2nd appearance of Bane

Oh my, God! More Modern Age key issues love here? Sure, why not.

Bane, Bane, Bane! Whether a Modern Age character or not, the dude is extremely popular. So popular that he was fit enough to be in two Batman flicks already.

Yes, that does say quite a lot, and it's no surprise since Bane is the man who broke the bat. Well, for you fans of the character, here's the 2nd appearance of Bane in Batman #489. This comic was published February, 1993.

eBay - No problem finding a copy of this one on eBay even for high grades. No scarcity of raw copies and about 6 CGC copies. Some 9.8s and 9.6 NM+ for decently cheap, meaning their around the $50 mark.

mycomicshop - No shortage of copies here at the moment. One CGC 9.8 here on consignment and the rest are raw copies in stock. Highest raw copy is a low NM or NM minus. Plenty of other grades lower than that.

ComicLink - Three CGC 9.8s here and all are the same price, but you can find it cheaper and slabbed on eBay.

X-MEN #15
2nd appearance of Sentinels
2nd appearance of Bolivar Trask
First appearance of Master Mold
Origin of Beast

Sentinels! Iconic and integral villains for the X-Men mythos. Fan favorites for sure.

Well, X-Men #14 saw the first appearances of these mutie hunters. X-Men #15 sees just a little bit more. Sure it's the 2nd appearance of the Sentinels and even the 2nd appearance of Bolivar Trask, whom we all saw in X-Men Days of Future Past in 2014.

However, this wonderful Silver Age comic also sees the first appearance of Master Mold, a super computer and long-time foe of the X-Men that facilitates the construction of Sentinels. He's also a Sentinel himself, just larger, and a fan-favorite as well. December, 1965 is the publishing date for this key issue Silver Age goodie.

eBay - Quite a few raw copies and CGC copies so far. Saw an 8.0 and 7.5 both under the $250. Other CGC options and raw options as well for this one on the might eBay at the time of this writing.

mycomicshop - Four raw copies here with a 7.0 FN/VF being the highest copy so far. Lowest copy is a GD minus.

ComicConnect - Six copies here with the highest a raw 8.5 and 8.0 VF. Only CGC copy is a 7.0 FN/VF.

ComicLink - Quite a few copies here but only one CGC slab that's an 8.5 VF+. The rest are all raw copies and the highest are two VF minuses.

Part 9 to this 2nd appearance key comics to invest in list is done, but that surely doesn't mean this series is through. Plenty more 2nd appearances in Part 10.

Some over-looked ones here, and two surprising Modern Age 2nd appearances. However, most are Silver Age key issues in this part. Quite a few are good buys in this one.

If you missed Part 8 of this 2nd appearances key issues list, be sure to click the PREVIOUS link below to transport back. As for Part 10 is ready so click the PART 10 link below to continue.
