Netflix Daredevil Show Casts Hero and Villain

Well, it seems that those producing the Netflix Daredevil television mini-series aren't messing around and want to get the project rolling. Two actors have already recently joined the shows cast, and both are crucial characters.

Charlie Cox of Boardwalk Empire has been recently confirmed to star as Matt Murdock and Daredevil in the 13 episode mini-series. Many are already praising this casting decision, mostly to continue to take cheap shots at Ben Affleck, the only other actor ever to play Hell's Kitchen "Man Without Fear".

As for Charlie Cox actually looking like Matt Murdock, I'd say in my own humble opinion that he doesn't remind me of the character physically in the least. Concerning his acting prowess, I have no comment since I've never seen him in Boardwalk Empire, or in anything else he's ever played. We shall have to see if he does a good job or not playing this iconic Marvel character.

The good news is that we are going to see Daredevil go up against his classic, all-time nemesis once again for the television show as well. If you haven't guessed, King Pin will be the main villain of the show, and the character has already been cast.

Yes, the actor is white (if that was a concern for you) and has a long list of credentials, and the roles he has played seem like a good match to fill the shoes of Wilson Fisk. The actor is Vincent D'Onofrio, and I highly approve of this casting decision.

Though his body is not like the comic characters, D'Onofrio's facial features can pull off the character. In terms of acting chops, he has exhibited a prowess for being intimidating and creepy in many of the roles he has played. I first saw him in Full Metal Jacket, and his performance in the movie was extremely memorable.

Actually, I don't think I've ever seen a movie I didn't like him in. Imposter was another film he was great in. So with Vincent on board, it seems the show has a highly credible name with some known acting chops attached to the project.

Well, so far that's two down and quite a few more to go. I'm seriously hoping that Bullseye does appear in the mini-series, and I'd love to see Frank Castle as The Punisher in one of the possible episodes! Or, at least, a reference to the character. That would be cool, but maybe unlikely. i wouldn't exactly rule it out though.

Jessica Jones mini-series will follow Daredevil's, and then Iron Fist and Luke Cage. The last will be The Defenders finale mini-series.

Daredevil is set to premiere in 2015, and if you've gotten those Daredevil key issues and beat the crowd, good job! If you haven't, you may want to see the list of Daredevil key issues on Total Comic Mayhem.

You may want to check out the first appearance of King Pin as well.
