WHY THIS ISSUE?

Can we say a butt-load of Marvel Comics first appearances are in this issue? There sure are, and many have become important supporting characters within the X-Men and over-all Marvel Comics universe.

No, I'm not talking about Toad or Mastermind here. Sure, they are original members of the first Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, but they never really became major villains individually within or outside the X-Men mythos. However, it is true that the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants has become an important aspect of the X-Men universe, but it was the 2nd version headed by Mystique that became the popular and beloved incarnation with fans.

Actually, the first appearance of mutants Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are the clenchers for this silver age key issue comic. When it comes to Marvel Comics first appearances within this issue, it's the brother/sister team of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch that makes this comic an extremely desirable X-Men key issue to own.

Furthermore, it's quite well-known that Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch crossed over from the X-Men and became extremely popular members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, The Avengers, and will make their big on-screen debut in the Avengers Age of Ultron epic movie hitting theaters in 2015! This debut in the Marvel cinematic world has put this silver age key on the hot burner.

Also, it seems that Fox and Bryan Singer's X-Men Days of Future Past will also debut Quicksilver in the movie. The character will be played by a different actor than the one in the Avengers sequel, and as far we know the two Quicksilvers will not share the same world between Disney's Avengers and Fox's X-Men.

So, with all of that said, it seems pretty apparent that X-Men #4 is a good comic to invest in now or pretty darn soon. If you're an X-Men fan and collector, this one should be high on your want list.
