Do I really have to explain why this Amazing Spider-Man key comic is one the best comics to invest in? I'm not saying it's one of the best silver age comics to invest in, nor am I saying it's one of the best bronze age comics to invest in. It's one of the best comics to invest in! That includes all eras.

But, if we are going to talk about Marvel first appearances that made their introduction in the bronze age and have really broke out in popularity since, the Punisher is at the top of the list somewhere right up there with Wolverine. The first appearance of the Punisher has proved the character's popularity among comic fans. Demand for this bronze age key issue has been one of the most valuable and desirable Amazing Spider-Man keys for the last 30 years.

The higher the grade, the more this key issue comic will put a dent in your wallet. However, the higher the grade, the quicker you can expect your investment comic to keep rising in value.

There's no doubt that ASM #129 is an under-valued comics in the Overstreet Price Guide. Overstreet is lagging the way this beast has been dropping for most grades in the past two years. Various graded copies have been selling well over guide prices.

There's already been three Punisher movies to date, and nevermind that all three movies have been disappointments when translated from the comic page to the screen. Fox was going to pilot a Punisher TV series but passed. I'm glad about that.

If Hollywood had problems translating the Punisher from the comic page to the big screen, I can't imagine television doing any justice for one of the most violent mainstream comic characters. Toning down the Punisher is not the way to go.

Funny how they can translate a geeky teen who has spider powers and swings all around New York fighting an octopus man pretty darn good, but they have a problem with an ex military, vigilante by the name of Frank Castle, who basically romps around New York off-ing bad guys with extreme prejudice and modern, conventional weapons. Hmmm. Speechless.

Come to think about it, I'm pretty shocked that it took me this long to issue a High Grade Alert for Amazing Spider-Man #129. I thought I did before, but it appears I haven't.

Oh yes, and this comic also holds another Marvel first appearance: The first appearance of the Jackal. Not really one of the greatest of Marvel first appearances, but still a first appearance nonetheless.

In truth, most snag this key issue because of the Punisher, and if a high grade CGC copy is on your want list, you can find a gorgeous 9.6 at mycomicshop.
