Storm Joins The Cast of X-Men Days of Future Past!

Warning: A Storm is heading in!

That's right! I've been complaining for the past few months about how the X-Men Days of Future Past movie just wouldn't be the same without the character of Storm in it.

Well, it seems that the news of Halle Berry officially returning to her role of X-Men weather Goddess, Storm, has hit the world like a tsunami. Bryan Singer tweeted the news today:

"Couldn't be more excited that has joined the cast of . Hopefully she can improve the weather in Montreal."

To further this excellent news, Halle Berry also confirmed it to Access Hollywood:

“I am, yeah. I love Storm. That’s one of my favorite characters that I’ve played. And people love that character as well."

It was only a few days ago that Halle Berry was in negotiations with the studio to reprise her role, and it seemed like a huge maybe. Bryan Singer wasn't even sure about it when he asked only a few days ago, responding to the question with:

“I can’t say. I don’t know yet. And it’s not necessarily a deal making aspect at all. I want to make sure it’ll make sense. But I love working with her.”

It's unclear about how large or small her role will be in Days of Future Past, but I do have to admit that Singer's statement above had me worried. In the comic book, Storm is the team leader of the future and past X-Men, and plays an important role in the X-Men comic

Of course, since the whole timeline has been mucked with, her role as leader will probably only extend to the future timeline of Professor X, Wolverine, Ice Man, and Rogue. After all in X-Men 3: The Last Stand, the movie did end with Storm being the head Mistress at the Xavier School For Gifted Youngsters.

Even though it most likely seems that the role of Storm will once again be undermined in the X-Men cinematic world, I am extremely happy that the Acting Goddess will once again become the Weather Goddess in the new X-Men flick.

X-Men Days of Future Past is so far a star-studded powerhouse that includes the First Class cast of Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Peter Dinklage, as well as the former X-Men movies' cast of Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and now Halle Berry.

Prepare for an epic X-Men movie. If you don't know much of the X-Men Days of Future Past storyline, you can click the link and visit the page to learn more about it.
