This historic comic is no easy find even in lower grades, and it's easy to recognize why this silver age key issue comic is so in-demand!

First off, the Fantastic Four comic kicked off Marvel Comics success during the silver age of comics. Thanks to the creative genius of Stan Lee and master comic artist Jack Kirby.

In fact, the story of how the FF team came to be actually has to do with the Justice League of America. When the Justice League of America #1 comic came out and was a huge success, publisher and founder of Marvel Comics Martin Goodman - told Stan Lee to create a superhero team for Marvel.

Thus, the Fantastic Four was born, a long with some of the most iconic Marvel comic characters and villains ever created. With Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman Sue Storm, her brother Johnny Storm as the second Human Torch, and the lovable brute The Thing, Marvel's superhero genre of comics during the silver age was revived and forever changed.

Like Spider-Man, the list of first appearances for villains and popular supporting characters in the Fantastic Four comics is huge. Characters like Doctor Doom, Galactus, the Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock are just a few that are key issues within the first Fantastic Four series or volume 1.

And, of course, the fact that high grade copies of this comic book keeps rising in value. With Fox Studios announcing that a Fantastic Four reboot will be released in 2015, this comic book will be even more in demand for the next two years.

Let's take a look at the Fantastic Four number 1 value changed from last year to this year.
